Works great, sturdy, holds a good size pot. But if you really need it and you're out on the trail it can suddenly fail and become unsafe to use.

If you look closely at the picture you will see the air holes in the shaft. There is not enough material between the holes and heat stops there. This is no big deal but after numerous uses the metal fatigues and warps and breaks leaving you without a cook stove.

If you have one of these stoves please inspect it. If you don't and you decide to buy one it will work well but it must be inspected before each use.

This stove is great for backpacking. It's compact, light, and easy to use. This particular stove by Primus does not come with the automatic ignitor, which also looks like a great product. Overall, a great little stove that should bring many meals in the backcountry for years to come.

I just received this little gem. While I haven't taken it camping yet, I did go outside in the January weather and fired it up. It boiled a quart of water (or, more specifically, brought my tea kettle to a full whistle) in a few seconds over five minutes. My trusty old Svea typically takes twice as long. It is light. It folds up nicely and comes with its own pouch for storage. There was no wind when I used it, and the flame is unprotected. Primus makes a wind screen designed for this stove, but they have removed it from the market to re-write the instructions (there is a safety hazard associated with using the screen with certain other Primus stoves). When Primus has re-packaged the screen, I hope to acquire one. It should make this an outstanding stove.

After 40 years using the same camping gaz stove I knew I had to replace it, ( fuel cylinders no longer available). Wow, what a difference. This stove folds up small and puts out a lot of heat. Just received, so have not tried it in the field, but have tested at home. Flame control knob adjusts perfectly from low to high giving me the exact flame I need. Short of trying to launch a hot air balloon, I do not think I will ever need more than a third of BTU's this stove will produce. Great basic, no hassle stove.
