The Marmot gore-tex pants are well designed and it fit quite well for me. I bought a slightly larger size as I read in the other reviews and that worked out well. This is especially important if you plan to wear another layer under the gore-tex pants. In terms of inseam lengths there are not many op... Read More

Light, neat and simplistic design. Gore-Tex is a must for a biker in Seattle!)

I bought a pair of Gore-Tex rain pants for my husband. He's never had Gore-Tex garment before. He walks to work and we live in rainy Oregon. He is amazed at how rain-repellant the pants are! He also appreciates how well they insulate to keep him warmer in the wind.

Ordered size large for a 6'2" 220# male (36" waist). Excellent fit, high waist, good mobility while snowshoeing, even as a third layer. Missing belt loops to keep the pants up, am looking for suspenders or will add belt loops later. Forget taking them off over boots, ankle zippers only help when lacing boots,,.

First GORE-TEX pants. It works as advertised though I am still a little concerned about PacLite's durability. Wished it is a normal GORE-TEX constructs. But so far after several hiking experiences, light or heavy, it holds really well except that once in a continuous rainy weather, the DWR couldn't bead the water after 2 hours and I could see the water start showing up. It is still waterproof but the breathability goes down.

These are well-made pants, but the legs are too narrow to wear over anything thicker than a baselayer and the bottom zippers are maybe a foot long, which is useless for pulling over shoes. I got them to wear over work clothes on a scooter and maybe for golf, but apparently they're only meant to be worn by themselves?

  • Question “I m 36 waist, top end for large, will I still have room for bottom layers or should I go XL? ”
Asked on 2/3/2016 4:07:55 PM by bassonboard from colorado
    • Answer Short answer; i would go with the large - they are made with some room but might be snug in the waist. Long answer; in most cases i think large would be ok but if you think you will go up in size or be wearing them with heavy cold weather pants i would go for the xl. I was between medium and large and went large for the length in the leg and for room for trousers but they are almost too big in the waist but work just fine - Good luck and hope that helps...

    • Answer Definitely not, but can't speak to length on the XL.

    • Answer We currently only have this item is size Large. Due to the nature of the closeout business, we often receive items in limited quantities. Therefore, popular sizes and colors can sell out quickly. Occasionally we are able to reorder a product, but closeout items are typically unable to be reordered. We suggest signing up for the My Updates as the best way to monitor incoming products. You will receive email notifications of our newest stock items.

    • Answer These pants seem to be true to size. I would try on your regular pants with the under layers you want to wear and see how comfortable that feels. If it is too tight, then I'd go the next bigger size. You certainly don't want to risk splitting out the seams of waterproof pants. That's the worst way to destroy the waterproofing.

  • Question “What is the inseam length for a size large?”
Asked on 12/8/2014 2:18:02 PM by m from Jersey
    • Answer If I remember correctly, Marmot does make these in a "long" and the seam length on their large size is supposed to be 33". That feels about right. I'm 6'2" and the length is pretty good for me.
