i have owned a set of leupold 6x 30 yosemite binoculars for several years and have used them in the australian bush for hunting and target shooting.
i decided to buy a set for my son because of the great valve and quality, so i also brought a new set for myself.

My daughter (11) can operate them well. Great for smaller sized people. Hefty for size, but rugged

My 8x30 Leupolds served very well through about 6 years of abuse -- sitting in puddles in my kayak or canoe, mostly -- but eventually they ceased to be waterproof. I wanted a bit more power anyway, and these are very good but not as easy to use as the 8x. Mostly it's the eyecups: They don't seem to retract as completely as the old ones, so it's problematic to get a nice sharp round image while wearing my glasses. It can be done, but it takes more fiddling than I'd like.
Otherwise, very good for birding from a boat. Lightweight & rugged. Not as hard to hold steady as I'd been led to believe a 10x bino would be.

Lightweight and clear image. Good field of view and magnification. Not as small as or quite the quality of a Steiner Predator with its rubberized exterior. Porro prism design does seem to produce brighter images than the roof prism of the Predator, however--that plus the extra 4mm of lens diameter.
