Expected to receive a high grade Italian Remington and that expectation was surpassed. This is a mid weight+ bruiser of a skinner that has been well conceived and executed in every detail. All materials are first rate and build/fit/finish is superb. The sheath is a real beauty as well having a detailed wet formed fit and using premium leather (deep antiqued brown). It has dual sheathing function with the knife being inserted either opened or closed. The stainless belt clip can be left as is for quick on/off belt attachment or can be changed to an absolute belt feed attachment by simply adding two rivets to the clip tip. This fine leather sheath misses no detail and would require a number of hours at the bench by a skilled maker to craft. The blade lock must be activated when either opening or closing this folder. Even after a judicious application of TufGlide to the pivot and spring surfaces the blade swing action remains stout and requires purposeful two handed technique (not a quick deployment design unless carried open in the sheath); this locking system is very solid and about as good as it gets, The scales are G-10 riveted (two) to stainless liners and surround detachable (two Torx) mildly figured olive wood inserts. The lanyard opening peeks out from the handle butt. Blade steel (full flat grind) and sharpness out of the box are both first rate. The non clip handle and finger grooved olive wood yield a great fit to the hand yet sleek profile for pocket carry. Sierra Trading Post sent a first quality example (box also as new) professionally padded and packaged at a more than fair coupon price point. The enclosed literature provides a brief summary of knife building in Maniago (since before 1380) identifying state of the art production methods of the present day. This model is from Remington's Premier line, guaranteed for life (materials and workmanship), and includes a mail in registration form usable by the buyer or gifted first owner when mailed to Remington in North Carolina. This knife is both a sleeper and a keeper.
