I have like 5 or 6 other Arc'teryx jackets and I was so excited to get this one for such a good price. It said it was standard fit. it is NOT standard fit. All of my other jackets are the same size, LG 12-14 and they fit great. Some are more roomy than others but none of them feel like I am trying to zip myself into a straight jacket. This was so tight I could barely close the zipper even with a tee shirt on. I am not sure what is going on, quality control or just [...] design but if you are thinking about this jacket be aware that is is probably undersized by one entire size. I wish I had seen some of the other reviews but if I had gotten an XL the sleeves would have been down to my knees. Yuck, and now I have to pay a huge return shipping fee. I have struck out on clothing and shoes from STP the last about 5 or 6 things I ordered (other than socks, who can screw them up?). I am starting to think a lot of the stuff they have is weirdly sized and that is why they have it as a close out. Very disappointing.

Great jacket though the sizing is a little off...It is cut to be form fitting, but there is not enough "give" in the fabric. I usually wear a medium and ordered a large after doing some research on the product. So glad I did! The sleeves are too long, but it fits well everywhere else. I am a size 8 and there is no extra room in the hips...the tag on the jacket says a 12-14 but I seriously doubt it would fit a 12-14.

My third soft shell, but my first from Arc'teryx. I purchased this one because everything I've purchased from them is quality. I needed a lighter weight jacket for warmer mos. in coastal CA. This jacket is perfect. I can wear in in the mornings with a short sleeved shirt underneath, and be warm enough. I don't think this one will see snow as it is pretty fitted, and the most I could layer under would be something with a thin material, like thermal or wool underwear. A thin fleece would be unnecessary. This jacket is not waterproof or windproof, so I would reach for my waterproof shell for snowboarding. However, if caught in a light rain or drizzle, this would keep you dry enough. It may work on a dry powder day, with wool underwear, if not too cold. The hood is adjustable, and provides good coverage. It breathes exceptionally well. When the temps start rising, I definitely don't feel sweaty or "sticky", which is exactly why you want a more expensive, well-made shell. The jacket is lighter than my North Face Apex Bionic. It's less boxy, too. It will be ideal for long hikes as it should pack pretty well, and won't add a lot of weight. The waist is tapered, and hugs your hips pretty snug at the bottom, but it's not at all too-tight feeling. It moves with you. I found my true size on the Arc'teryx website, and they recommended a small, based on my information. I'm 5'5"/125 lbs., with curvy hips, and I'm a 32C in bra. I like how it fits, and I'm definitely happy with a small. It actually feels tailored for my body. It doesn't ride up. It's an extremely flattering fit. I also like that the arms are longer, and reach mid-hand. The jacket is a perfect length, and is slightly longer in the back. At this price, you won't go wrong with this jacket.
