I ordered this because a previous reviewer lead me to believe it was like a "Spi" belt but it has absolutely no stretch what so ever and will only hold a small phone, not the LG G3 I now use. The Motorola RAZR M I used in the past will just fit but zipping would be a struggle so once it's inside forget about accessing it while running/on the move.
Otherwise, this is a great race belt. Room for an MP3 like a Zune HD or iPod shuffle, ID, keys or an energy bar while race number and bells can be stowed outside the pocket. Since I can't carry my super size cell in this belt I didn't test it out for much else. I already have a race belt so can't see a purpose for this one so it will be going back. So sad.

This belt is much more streamlined an thoughtfully designed than my other race belt. I love the loops that can hold gels on the outside, so no more digging through searching and looking down while grabbing for a gel, losing momentum, and that leaves more pouch room for ID, credit card, cash, phone...and less chance of that annoying flopping along while running, which left a big welt and chafe mark that took forever to fade after that half marathon... Wow I had no idea that I had such strong opinions on race belts. This is a much better design than my S_-_-belt, and less than half the price. Thanks STP!

Yes, I think it would. I fit my iPhone 4 in it, and there is plenty of room. It's stretchy enough to easily accommodate another inch on each side all around. I don't think it would fit that really big iPhone 6s(?) but a regular 5 or 6 would be fine.
