So I'm 6'4" and I typically wear an XL... at first the Furio (XL) looked like it would swallow all 220 lbs of me... once I tried it on and adjusted the cuffs and waist, it looks like a million bucks. I've only wore it when the temps were in the 30-40s and was very comfortable with street clothes on... Read More

Love the jacket, the zips down the side are great. I opted for the large and I generally wear a size 40 suit with a 34 waist.

It's simply a great jacket. Too bad it's discontinued. Outer material is relatively soft, but still tough. It's a dual purpose rain jacket/shell, so its use is nearly limitless. Pockets are all too small to be really useful, but other than that I have no complaints. Plus, it's an Outdoor Research, which has the best warranty going. I'm 6'0" tall, 200 lbs, and the XL fit me well. A bit loose, room enough to layer.

I've owned this jacket for a year now and have tested it in the harshest New England conditions, through several blizzards and sub- zero temperatures. Snug up this jacket using the numerous drawcords and you're ready to go. I use it primarily for hiking and it's tough enough to handle bush-whacking without a mark. I typically wear it over three layers of clothing, a poly base layer, a fleece shirt and a fleece hoodie. Not only does it look great, I'm certain it will take anything mother nature throws at it including frigid temperatures, wind, snow and rain. The only problem I've had with this jacket is that it doesn't breath. I usually find significant amounts of condensation on the inside lining after an outing. This makes wearing this jacket like wearing a plastic raincoat. I haven't tried to use the pit zips yet to control moisture but sweat is a significant problem.

Waterproof and light weight. Perfect for keeping a down coat dry. There is a tie back for the hood.

I am very pleased with the OR Furio Jacket. The combination of Gore-Tex fabrics, fit and finish of the construction, and feature set make for a very high quality shell. The fit of the jacket has adequate room across the shoulders and chest for layering without introducing unnecessary bulk or excess fabric. Extending the "pit-zips" all the way down to the hem is a nice innovation. The sleeves are nice a long so the cuffs don't ride up no matter what direction you reach.

My only complaints are that the pockets are quite small and the hood is quite large. To put the pocket size into perspective, my iPhone 6 just barely fits in the chest pockets. I have to twist and rotate it to get it in and out. The hood is cut to fit over a helmet, but it is so big that it is hard to adjust the draw cords enough to keep it on my head in the wind without a helmet. Helmet compatible hoods are a mainstay feature of technical shells, however, I have never needed to wear my hood over my climbing or snowboard helmet, but I often wear it in the rain without a helmet. For me, it is a feature without a need.

I would definitely recommend this shell to anyone in the market for a jacket that is as home in the back-country as it is in town. Light, comfortable, flexible, and rugged for climbing and riding, while looking good as a city rain jacket.
