I have no idea what is going on with people nowadays.
We are at the point that half of population doeskin know their own shoe size.
Thank God I didn't listen to so many of them claiming this boot is coming full size smaller.
Ordered my size and could not be happier.
Boot appears to be well done,... Read More

Light weight, water proof, and insulated making the wearing of a heavy duty sock unnecessary.

Perhaps my input can help someone decide ... to fit or not to fit, that is the question! My feet are a size C width, length heel to toe 11 and arch length 111/2, high arch, medium to high volume. The Bormio is a B width. Liking a snug fit I have purchase size 11'1/2 leather work boots. After a few wearings they break into a comfortable C width. These boots, however, are not leather in the critical area. I considered sending them back. I did order the size 12 after reading the reviews.
I'm keeping them. I inserted a thinner insole and now look forward to enjoying these snug fit Tevas for winter hiking and snowshoeing on moderately cold days. On those vortexly cold below zero days I'll slip into my clumsy pac-boots to shovel snow and feed goats. I'll hike on those Northwoods Wisconsin balmy 10* days. I'm happy I found a fit as these boots are Ferraris for my feet.

If you have a high instep these are not the boots for you. I had high hopes but the fit isn't there. I can barely get the boot on, they're very tight across the top of my foot. I'm disappointed to say the least.

They are really good for keeping your feet warm and do an excellent job at keeping snow out of the boot, and are durable and quite sturdy

  • Question “How would these boots work for snowshoeing?”
Asked on 12/13/2014 6:11:28 PM by The Traveling Dad from Ohio
    • Answer Sorry, no snow in baltimore yet, can't answer.
Answered on 12/13/2014 7:03:23 PM by Kt from Baltimore
    • Answer I don't snowshoe. For everyday use, they fit like all other Teva shoes.

I could walk a long time in these.
Answered on 12/13/2014 9:49:48 PM by M from NE Indiana
    • Answer My opinion would be that this would not be a good boot for snowshoeing, because it is very thin and lightweight, very flexible with almost no ankle support (despite the height). It would be warm enough and would probably keep your feet dry.
Answered on 12/14/2014 12:37:31 AM by Tahoe Alan from California
    • Answer never been snowshoeing before but they are lightweight and comfortable, just get a size up. if you wear a 10 get 11.

    • Answer I have not had an opportunity to use them for snowshoeing yet. I would say it depends on how serious your snowshoeing was. They might be OK for short distances. I would prefer a more hiking boot style boot for snowshoeing. These are very light weight and flexible. More like a rubber boot.

    • Answer just like a normal boot, I would think, it is a good well built product from teva especially for the price, even if you do not use it for it, it is a great buy

    • Answer Should work great. their not big and bulky. Fits like a moccasin/Get a 1/2 size bigger.

    • Answer No, the tongue is not sealed above the 4th eyelet, so standing water above about half the boot height will seep into the boot. I don't see these as true field boots you would trust in that sort of situation. These are more casual wear (they have no ankle support despite being so high).

    • Answer The boot is gusseted just above the ankle so probably not 100% waterproof over that. If you need something totally water proof that high you might need to get some 'Bogs" rubber boots.
When I got mine the first thing I did was to put them on and stand in a bathtub of cold water right up to the gussets for 5 minutes.
No water at all got in, bone dry and really could not feel the cold water either.
I also got some Nikwax to spray on them maybe once or twice a year to keep up the water proofness.

    • Answer The gussets only come up a little over 5 inches. I have not been that deep in water in them but would not trust it to not lleak.

  • Question “What types of leather this boots used?”
Asked on 9/15/2014 9:23:40 PM by Leah from Iowa
    • Answer The sole and the shoe are rubber. The upper which includes the laces is smooth supple leather. I bought the black on black. The insoles are very comfortable and the shoe can be laced up snug to feel like a hiking boot.
