have not worn these yet, but for the money they seem well made. I prefer the ones I have with a liner over the shell material, but then again I paid much more for those.

First time skier, living in Breckenridge Colorado. i ordered these pants and I absolutely love them. I am 6ft tall with an inseam of about 34...these fit perfect with my skis. They are are warm and extremely durable, I should know, I fall a lot. I wear them with a belt and they are perfect. The only thing i would argue would be the color. They said navy blue, but they are more of a purple, I love them none the less and would recommend.

My relatively large thighs and small waist make finding ski pants challenging. In addition I really wanted pants that would work well both lift service and backcountry skiing - i.e. windproof enough to keep warmth in at high wind, above timberline days whether or not I'm hiking, enough room to put on thicker baselayers when really cold, and able to vent on not-so-cold hot-from-skinning-up trips.

    These pants rock:

Good fit in waist without leaving ugly and awkward puckering from adjusting smaller. Check.
    Adjustable waist. Check.
Room in knee area for knee pads. Check.
    Thigh vents. Check.
Double thigh vents on inside and outside. Bonus!
Room in legs for thicker baselayer when needed. Check.
Sits on my waist - not lower. Check (important for me and my body type and skiing - tele face plants with a pack on and low riding pants = lots of snow in pants. Not good.)
    Boot guards. Check.
Appropriate length (not dragging inches of material and requiring expensive hemming or unseemly roll-ups to keep out of bindings in skis, or mud when walking in muddy parking lots). Check.
    Look great. Check.

I have not had them out in the weather for testing - however I already own a FlyLow shell of the same material. That shell is by far the most windproof jacket I've owned - and thus the warmest non-insulated piece I have. I've tested that jacket in all sorts of weather - backcountry and lift service. I've wanted a pair of FlyLow pants of this same material ever since the barely-upright-in-wind backcountry day I had in that jacket and I jumped on the chance to get them from STP.

Note: I live and ski (primarily) in Colorado - so I have NOT tested this material for the waterproof needs of the Sierras and Cascades.
