Husband and I love these slippers, we always have a set of spares. The sizing is funny, I am a 42, and I wear 8.5 womens and he wears the 46, he wears a mens 12. These can be washed with a wool wash bar to keep them clean. Do not wait too long to wash them. They are not itchy and are very soft. There is a bit of padding in the heel area, just enough for slippers that are used on a hard wood floor.

These slippers are so cozy and beautifully made. The instep is rather high so there is a quite bit of extra space.

I listened to the reviews that said these run small and ordered a size up. They are probably true to size and my pair is too loose and fall off easily. Great slippers, but order your normal size. The sole is felted wool with a little bit of gummy texture to it for gripping - it is not an indoor/outdoor type of sole.

    • Answer These run true to Metric sizing.

    • Answer If you hover over the "Sizes Available" with your mouse, a tap will appear and provide you with the correct numeric sizing. I hope this helps.

    • Answer For me, the 41 Euro size corresponds with U.S. Women's 9 for my footwear.

  • Question “I want to buy size 9 slippers.........what euro size should I buy?”
Asked on 3/19/2012 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer If you hover over the "Sizes Available" with your mouse, a tap will appear and provide you with the correct numeric sizing. 41 (US: M Size 9, F 10) or 40 (US: M Size 8, F 9) should work for you depending on your sex. Have a great day

    • Answer There are size conversion charts on the website. It matters whether you are talking men's or women's size 9. These slippers seem to run true to size, but they slip off (my feet) easily, unless I have on socks. Hope that helps....

  • Question “Would you recommend these slippers for an 87 year old woman. She does not want any type of rubber sole that is why I thought this slipper would help her "scoot" along better, but I am concerned about the elastic and if someone has swollen feet, would this be constricting. How padded is the slipper bed also.”
Asked on 12/1/2009 12:00:00 AM by Sally from New York
    • Answer No padding at all. And I felt like they would slide out from under me. I would not recommend them. For my 88-year-old mother-in-law I have gotten Acorn slippers with velcro straps (good for swollen feet) and teva-like sandals for summer. They have a rubber sole, but she loves them.
Answered on 12/12/2009 12:00:00 AM by Alice from Ellensburg, WA
    • Answer These really are very comfortable and loose around the foot. very roomy and no constricting elastic. they are a very 'soft' slipper. true to how one imagines a slipper, not a lot of structure. the bottoms are the same boiled wool as the rest of the construction. they slide nicely, but at the same time don't feel un-secure on a wood floor. hope this helps. i am really happy with these slippers.
Answered on 1/4/2010 12:00:00 AM by ak from california
    • Answer These are slides with no elastic, but they stretch well with wear; they seem to mold to the foot. Also, they definitely would help in the scooting capacity. The sole is about 5/8 inch, so it is padded without being bulky. I love mine so well that I ordered another pair.
Answered on 1/4/2011 12:00:00 AM by dee from OK
    • Answer The slipper bed is lightly cushioned (think four layers of a wool blanket, stacked). The slippers can be extremely slippery, depending on the flooring. They are fine on my commercial grade carpeting, but rather slippery on the laminate. I would not buy them for my 80-something-year-old grandmother because of the lack of cushioning, lack of arch support, and slipping hazard. The elastic is not constricting at all on my foot (not like the "ballet"-style slippers from I*toner).
Answered on 1/11/2011 12:00:00 AM by SAHM from Montoursville, PA
    • Answer They are nicely padded, and the elastic is not tight or restrictive.
Answered on 1/12/2011 12:00:00 AM by Steve from Snowy Buffalo, NY!
    • Answer The padding on the bottom of the slipper is adequate. Too much might make it (and her) wobbly. I did not find the elastic too tight at all barefooted or with medium heavy wool sox.
