I bought a pair for each of my sons, who are very tall (6-foot-2 and 6-foot-4) and wiry. They asked that I order size M rather than L, and that turned out to be a good call. The waist fits fine and there's no annoying bagging in the crotch or knees. Yes, the length is short, but that's what they wan... Read More

I've used these into the 30's and find that with them and a pair of jeans/hiking pants, I'm quite toasty. And this is the lightest weight. If we were still in Wisconsin, then I can imagine using a heavier base layer, below zero or the teens and maybe the 20's if windy, but most of the time these certainly would be enough. These seem durable and I expect they should last quite a while.

Bought these for my husband who likes to wear a warm base layer under a pair of hiking shorts around the house (in the winter), as well as hike outside in all weather conditions. These Icebreaker bottoms and the Icebreaker top are now his favorites. He likes the feel of the light merino wool rather than the synthetic base layers he's been wearing. The Medium fits him at 5' 10" and 165 lbs. He is hard on clothes, so will see how these hold up over time.

This are a great, ultralight pair of long underwear by Icebreaker. These keep me warm in the cold, and never do they cause me to get too hot; moisture wicking is top-notch!

I have worn these for 3 years now from October until April. Each pair lasts about a year and a half and I am very happy to buy them again at the end of that. Their warm enough for below zero temps with snow pants and their cool enough for 50F hiking in the mountains. Bonus is they do not stink like synthetics.

These are very thin and very tight-fitting, as others have said. They are not very comfortable for use in a cold room, for example, but you hardly notice them when going for a walk. Good down to about 10F unless you have a really warm layer over them, then might work at colder temps.

    • Answer I forgot to mention, i got the L. Im a 34 waist pants, and it is snug. I would go 1 up if my waist were any bigger considering they'll shrink a little in time.
