I was a little concerned these might be 'itchy', but so far I can't tell the difference from cotton in terms of comfort. They are warmer than cotton, so maybe not for everyday use, but a few days of hunting and hiking in freezing temps and rain have sold me.

Who doesn't love merino wool? Only point loss for me was on shape. Waste band was correct size but slid down a lot due to lack of room for legs, butt and stuff.

too bad they are being discontinued.

What do I mean by dysfunctional? I purchased 8 of these and out of that, 4 or 5 have stretched out to where the fly sags and enables your "contents" to poke out of them. This causes me to visibly "adjust" myself, not cool at all.

Never had this problem with other icebreaker briefs.

Quality underwear. Fit isn't best in the world, but they are good.

These could use a bit more elastic. By the end of the day, they are all stretched out and saggy. Not attractive to the ladies at bedtime.
