Great shoe! Waterproof, and super comfortable. I have sprained my ankle a couple of times in the last 5 years and the support in this trail shoe is great. I liked the shoe so much I purchased 2 additional pairs and put in my closet for the future.

i had a pair of asolo shoes before that were great so i gave these a try. i had to get a 6 1/2 when i normally wear a size 7.5, more like 8 usually in running type shoes. i got these shoes for hiking mostly and tromping around in the woods with the dogs. these are good in the toebox but kind of loose fitting in the heel- which i do have a narrow heel. the laces don't have the extra loop option which usually helps make the heel fit a little bit tighter. i wore them for a long hike on my first time wearing them and they were mostly fine, although now when i put them on they seem to make a strange plastic bag kind of sound when i walk in them. the color i ended up with was this beige/yellow which is ok by itself but actually doesn't go with most of my clothes. i think i would have been happier with the grey.

Bought myself a pair....then bought a friend a pair. They are so comfortable I want another pair. I bought them for a waterproof walking shoe but ended up using them for an every day running around shoe.

I wear a 9 street shoe and that is the size I take in this shoe. This shoe is not soft soled. There is not a lot of flex. If this is something you want, don't get this shoe. I trouble with my feet if they bent too much so this works for me.

  • Question “I'm looking to purchase a waterproof shoe for tropical hiking. Are these terribly hot? (I know the gore-tex makes for a warmer shoe, but are these warmer than other waterproof low hikers.)”
Asked on 12/8/2011 12:00:00 AM by Birdwatcher from Unknown
    • Answer The Gore-Tex XCR Membrane has improved breathability so your feet wont get hot and clammy, but will stay very dry.

  • Question “I wear a wide width shoe. Do these come with a wide size? I wear a 10.5, so I guess I would order a 9.5?! Thanks, Chris”
Asked on 11/14/2010 12:00:00 AM by Chris from Unknown
    • Answer Asolo is a brand that already runs slightly narrow, so it is not the best brand for a wide foot, but with a wide foot you would want your true size as ordering down will be too tight for you.

  • Question “I work on solid concrete floors all day.I only sit for an hour and do constant walking.Would these shoes be good.”
Asked on 9/19/2010 12:00:00 AM by Munch from Hampstead,NH
    • Answer These have a rubber outsole that will provide support. They are supportive and comfortable and will work for your use.

  • Question “I mainly hike, but I like to run some trails. Is the sole flexible enough to allow running, yet supportive enough to maintain traction when hiking over rocks or climbing thru scree?”
Asked on 7/15/2010 12:00:00 AM by Robyn from Lake Tahoe
    • Answer These will be great for hiking, but they may be too heavy and stiff for trail running. It depends on how stiff you like your shoe, but this will be similar to a light hiker.
Answered on 7/20/2010 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer I wouldn't recommend these for running. They're pretty heavy. Much better for hiking.
