My kids age 10 and 12 love them, do their homework in them when the weather is good. My 78 year old mom likes it too, but she needs help getting out of the chair because it is low for her. Overall I would recommend the stand to anyone who does not want to hang the hammock chair from their porch or a tree, it is a great alternative to having to drill into your house. Very easy to put together, I did 90% by self and just needed a little help to put the top piece on.

Reviewed by Jan from Sedona, AZ on Saturday, January 21, 2012When it first arrived, the box was severely damaged with a large piece of metal tubing poking through the box and the bottom open. The second delivery was in slightly better condition. It assembled easily. However, after I hung the chair and sat slowly in it, the entire assembly tipped over forward with part of it landing on my knee and the top portion, which just slides in, falling off completely. My husband and I lowered the level to see if that would help, but it tipped again. We are both of average weight, so that was not the issue. The stand is not well balanced, is heavy, and is inherently dangerous. My knee is still hurting.

Reviewed by fanger from Norman, OK on Thursday, September 08, 2011I set it up in minutes and the instructions were good. It is heavy/sturdy/stout, so you have to put it together doing the bottom first. It is well-balanced so you feel perfectly safe while sitting the chair you attach to the frame.

Question “What is the difference between this stand and the less expensive on that you offer?|Neither picture for either frame and none of the customer questions talk about being able to hang and use the footrest properly. Is that possible with either frame? And if so, how as I don't see a way to hang the foot rest.”

Answer I just hang the footrest from the same spring I hang the chair (the instructions talk about an O ring, but the O ring is separate, not attached as pictured and I don't know how the heck to use it, but hanging the rope directly on the spring works fine...and so does hanging the footrest their.

Answer The footrest hangs from the top ring (the same ring the ropes for the chair are tied to) by a separate rope. You can use the footrest by adjusting the height to your desired place by shortening or lengthening the rope (using the knot at the ring). When not in use, the footrest is easily swung around in back of the chair.
