This is a great stand. Well engineered. The comment below about the poor instructions is difficult to understand. The instructions just has pictures but you can put it together without even looking. It is obvious how it comes together if you see a picture. It is heavy because it must be in orde...

This was easy to put together. It's also easily adjustable for height. Can be used inside or out and is very sturdy with rubber floor guards. I wouldn't try to use it like some kind of a kids swing set for adults. It is build to suspend a seat in mid-air while allowing a small amount of movement.

I really like this stand. I didn't have a lot of money to spend on a stand so I did some research and decided on this one. I am 5 foot 8 and do not have a problem with the height off the ground with or without the spring, plus there are even more options on height so when others want to use it I can make it higher or lower. It appears to be solidly made. My husband put it together pretty quickly. It is light enough to move around the yard, but heavy enough not to tip over. I have two complaints first I have a string chair and sometimes the strings get caught on the knobs you use for height, and because of its construction you can t swing in a complete circle. Neither one of these things bother me.

The 1st one was purchased 7.5 yrs ago. Got another one to go with a 2nd rope chair/swing I bought. My 1st stand has held up, outside now for a little over 6 yrs. Could use a paint job but otherwise just fine. Definitely worth the price; especially one sale. You can get awesome hand made rope swings right from Mexico for about $50 that last for years and they arrive in less than a week.

I just hang the footrest from the same spring I hang the chair (the instructions talk about an O ring, but the O ring is separate, not attached as pictured and I don't know how the heck to use it, but hanging the rope directly on the spring works fine...and so does hanging the footrest their.

The footrest hangs from the top ring (the same ring the ropes for the chair are tied to) by a separate rope. You can use the footrest by adjusting the height to your desired place by shortening or lengthening the rope (using the knot at the ring). When not in use, the footrest is easily swung around in back of the chair.
