I love the winter--these save my toes! Nothing else works. 400 Thinsulate is useless without the toe warmers! Raynaud's disorder-disease-phenomeon is no picnic--these will save the day!

All the little warmers I get from Sierra are good for what they are advertised, though I have been using them to, say, warm an injured joint. I keep one in my first aid kit for that purpose. I haven't tried these in my shoes, but I can vouch for the fact that they stay warm through a night, when bound to an injury.

These do make heat, but they seem to have halved the amount of glue that they put on each toe warmer. They don't stick to the socks very well. It is difficult to keep the toe warmers in place when putting your foot into a ski boot. I bought these last year and they had more glue. Probably would have given them four stars then.

Also we usually get between 4 and 5 hours of heat inside our ski boots with these. I have never had them last 6 hours.

I used these brand of toe warmers during a 7 day ski trip and my feet felt warm and comfortable for the aprox 7 hours I was outside. Used them with smartwool socks.

Prefer them over whole feet heat packs which don't last as long and the inside material shifts from front to back making them very uncomfortable.

    Words of advise:
-don't break them while removing them because they stain everything black.
-open the packages 30 minutes before using them.

use them every time i go skiing. ski boots have very little extra room so you will feel these. appear to be oxygen activated. after 2-3 hours on a cold day, my toes do get cold. a quick stop at the lodge, remove the ski boots, the warmers get warm again, and then back on with the boots. good for the rest of the day.

used in nordic and alpine ski boots, snow shoe boots, winter hiking boots, heck, even on mt washington during a sleet storm in august. these little guys are great. They are especially handy when your 8 yr old daughter's toes are cold, and you save the day by digging them out of your pack. "Yay Dad" Award winner.
