Perfect for reading and short naps. If you hang it from a beam or branch it will spin slowly in the breeze giving you a 360" view

I have gone through 3 of these. I say gone through because they don't usually last more than one season, but if you figure in the fact that they are 1/3 the cost of other rope swing hammock, you are still saving money. The reason this doesn't last is the ropes are quite thin, but that is what makes it sooooo comfortable. I have tried others and they are terrible. The ropes dig into your back. I wouldn't want a canvas one because the air just flows through this one. It has provided a spot for many naps taken by my children, husband and me. We all fight over it and I really should get 5!

...each frame with a string swing with replacements; and also the chair swing type ....This is an extra great price at SIERRA TRADING POST and a comfortable, leisurely place to meditate, sleep, sway away, read the newspaper or a good book ..... Spend a bit of quiet time outdoors....etc, etc,..... dream on........ (the replacements are not because of weakness of any kind, but the frame is a life-long surviver. AT THIS PRICE, why not be sure the 'less durable than steel" will last indefinitely. .. or not?

So relaxing in the morning when I have a cup 'o coffee and go out with my newspaper or iPad.... to watch the trees and birds and annoy the birds building a nest inside my patio eaves. They scold me as I freely sway to the rhythm of the "string swing". A firm pillow makes a very comfortable seat and I sometimes rest my head on the back "cords" (really too heavy to be called strings)...and enjoy just being out alone (except for the scolding pair of birds). I bought two swings because the pipe holder is STRONG (also for sale at Sierra) and will last forever....and an extra swing at these prices is a great investment to make a happy swinger..for a long time ! Couldn't be happier, relaxing and swaying and sometimes reading and always enjoying being outside on a swing that is so easy to make work for me.

  • Question “I had one like this 20 yrs ago! What was so great, was that the open weave would allow me to stretch it out in the front, so that my legs, extended in front of me, were fully supported. I've found 2 conflicting reviews as to this possibility. Any feedback on this? Thanks!”

  • Question “I was wondering if his hammock includes the stand. If i does include the stand if here is a way to order it without the stand, because I was wanting to hang it from a chain from the ceiling. Is that possible? I was going to find a part of the ceiling where there is wood, and put it there.”
Asked on 8/2/2011 12:00:00 AM by Lauren from Unknown
    • Answer It does not come with the stand. If you secure it in the ceiling properly it will work.

    • Answer This hammock does not come with the stand that is in the picture so you would be able to hang it from your ceiling.

  • Question “what is the best way to mount this chair underneath a covered front porch?”
Asked on 5/2/2010 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer The best way to mount this chair is to put in a heavy hook that screws in to a secure beam on the porch, then hang a chain from that to tie to the loop at the top. This has worked well for the ones we have on our porch at home.
