We must have been through a dozen beds for our dog (a lab/ shepherd mix). He usually checks them out by digging/ tearing/ chewing. none of them has lasted. this one has!! Very few are big enough, or have enough stuffing and he loses interest very fast. This one he actually uses, and has not mana... Read More

Happy to find a dog bed that my "digger dog" hasn't been able to shred!

Just love these beds. First ordered them a 1 1/2 ago and they are holding up great! My 45 lb GSP fits in them perfectly and loves them as well. A bigger size would be to big. Nice dark green color that I really like. I use to by a bed every 6 months from costco because they would fall apart, not anymore this is the bed for me and great price!!!

I have a 5 year old doberman pincer who likes to tear things up. She digs at her bed to get it just right and has shredded many beds. I have another one of these which I have washed many times and it still looks good. I am a veterinarian, and of all the beds I have seen, I like this one the best.

I have had Kimlor dog beds for years and years. They have held up well, with no damage from my dogs. I have cocker spaniels, and two dogs can fit on this size bed, although each dog prefers its own bed. My sister has a bed the same size. She has labs. She has had it longer than I have had mine, and has had no issues, either. The cover is easy to remove and wash. The zipper is sturdy. The bed flattens out with use, but it is easy to remove the cover and fluff up the pillow insert. Even when the bed flattens out, there is still a decent amount of padding to keep the dog comfortable. I've never tried to wash the insert, due to its size, but I'm sure it would easily fit into a double washer at a laundromat. It would likely fit in a regular, large-drum washer, or a front-loading washer (My washer is 25 years old, with a small drum). I highly recommend this bed.

    • Answer The outer cover is a fabric that softens over time and and is not waterproof, both the cover and inner cover are washable.

    • Answer The outer cover is not waterproof or really even water resistant. It is closest to denim or heavy canvas in texture.

    • Answer The cover is not waterproof. It is probably in between soft and rough, leaning towards rough.

    • Answer The insert is a pretty durable fabric that is woven fairy tight. The bed does get lumpy but that is easily fixed by picking it up and shaking it.

    • Answer I'm not 100% what you're asking but I'll try to help: The exterior, removable cover of the dog bed is a denim/canvas material that appears to be very durable. The interior stuffing is additionally covered/contained in a thin material that is not durable in and of itself. However, I don't see why it would need to be if it is covered. So far the bed is not lumpy, but it has only been a few weeks for my dogs. If it does get a little lumpy I can just pick it up, shake it out and it goes back to its original shape.

    • Answer The insert is not as durable as the outer cover and could probably tear through if used without the cover for long. The shape seems to be pretty durable and can be shaken out to remove lumps.

  • Question “Is the inside washable? I have 3 senior dogs & one peed on it the day it arrived. :(
Asked on 10/19/2014 2:58:00 PM by KARIN from Mass
    • Answer That is funny. My dog did the exact same thing but it did not soak through the cover. I am not sure about the wash ability of it but would guess that it was ok to wash as there are few material you couldn't.
Answered on 10/19/2014 3:24:49 PM by Tim from San Antonio, TX
    • Answer That I don't know, Karin. But I have to believe you could wash it provided you didn't wring it (or spin it on high). If you have a large capacity dryer you could probably fluff it as well.

    • Answer I'm pretty sure the outside is washable. Haven't looked into the actual inside, but I'm sure its possible!

    • Answer I recommend covering the "inside" with a large trash bag, before you put the cloth cover on. My guess is that you could wash it, but it would need a very large washing machine and a very long time to dry. The outside cover is washable.

    • Answer I contacted the company (Kimlor 1 (800)-762-0007). One person I spoke with owns one of the dog beds. She had been reluctant to wash the inside thinking that it might harm the material that covers the polyester filling. She hangs in the sun for freshness and uses freebreeze like stuff for odor control.

      Hope this helps.

    • Answer Karin, the inside is not washable. I tag the spot, remove cover and pour a product like Natures miracle over it. Let it sit, pour water through it to rinse, dry. Push it back into clean cover. I've put a waterproof layer between cover and pillow

    • Answer my 90 lb German Shepard loves the medium size bed. He will curl up on it or stretch out on it. He likes both ways of sleeping on it.

    • Answer She will be happy chewing up a small one now. She may also tear through a medium or two. It's okay. When she outgrows chewing in about one year, you can buy her a large. My 65-pound Labrador likes his large now, but we also have an extra-large for him to curl up in during winter. These beds are a great bargain!

    • Answer My one year old toy poodle loves to chew on everything which poodles usually don't and she has chewed on this bed with her little razor sharp teeth and so far has done no damage. The fabric on this bed has held up better than the legs on my bamboo chairs. So far there are no holes or tears on this bed. Fabric is like a twill but softer and just as strong. Just playing around, she has punched holes in my hand and arm but not this bed. Love the fact that the liner will unzip to be removed for washing.

    • Answer This fabric is a pretty durable cotton. The only thing I have found is that it can get stained, as all cotton can. It would be a pretty big chore for your bulldog to pull this bed around since it is very heavy. Plus, the stuffing is sort of poufed inside, rather than a solid piece of foam, so he may have a hard time pulling it around.

    • Answer I think the cover is made of a very durable fabric. It is tightly woven and feels like it will hold up well.
