Got these shoes for ice climbing and they are awesome. Keep feet warm (or as warm as they're going to get when its 10 degrees outside). Not too stiff, but sturdy enough to provide good control. Latch on laces makes tying easier, especially in gloves.

I purchased these for vertical ice climbing and they've been great so far this season. I've got rather narrow feet and these fit me well, better than a lot of boots out there. The camming system that locks the heel in works great to reduce heel-lift. I normally wear a 8 or 8.5 shoe but ended up having to exchange for a 9. As usual, STP was great about the exchange.

Firm non flexing shank proved great for my CAMP Stalker with adjuster crampons. While doing a night hike, had to stop several times due to heel rubbing. Tightened upper laces in a criss cross fashion to finally stop but would have preferred a little flex without the pain. May add extra pair of socks next hike for more padding in heel. Hiked in sub zero temps and feet NEVER got cold. I fell on the mountain side (bare rock without crampons on) and sprained my ankle. I do believe the boots prevented a broken ankle however they caused the fall for lack of traction on the rocks. I sized up 1 whole size to accomidate the previous reviews for 1/2 size small. Add thick socks or 2 pair of socks and they fit properly. Bails for crampons are nice. Solid boot. I will have to try and break in a little more to see if they get better. Season over for me because of accident
