They are the perfect hiking boots, durable for winter and warm specially when I used my crampons on the ice. Really good deal, otherwise I will have to pay [$] for the same pair at a ski/hiking retail stores. Sierra T you're the best in my book!

Used for first time in High Peaks Region Adirondacks. Temps in the 20's and two feet of fresh powder. Did not need breaking in. Ordered size 1/2 larger and fit snug. More useful in sub-zero temps because at 20 degrees my feet were cooking inside these boots -not complaining though. Love them.

Just recently had them out in the snow in some pretty steep and rugged terrain. They are stiff still, but slowly breaking in. I think after several more outings, they are going to be a great boot. Don't wear them driving or when you are sitting or idle for a while. They are heavy and snug, your feet will feel as if they are falling asleep inside. Best use is when you are active. Looking forward to taking them out more! I wouldn't spend a ton on these boots though. The list price/MSRP is way too high...if you can get them around [$]..i'd say go for it. They could improve by giving a little more room in the front foot and widening the tread/sole on the bottom of the boot. They are surprisingly warm, but don't how they'd fair after being warn all day and getting soaked? Remember they are sized for European sizing, so pay attention. I wear a 9.5 US and the Euro/UK 8.5 fits pretty true to size with a midweight smartwool hiking sock. You wouldn't be able to get a very thick sock in though...and if you went a half size bigger you might be slipping in the boot too much. Consider what you will use them for and weigh your options. Asolo's may be the only comparable mountaineering boot. I think either or would be a good choice. Just watch for the sales...

bought these boots for Rainier. used them here in Mo. during extremely cold conditions with snow for a test run. kept my feet warm and dry, even when wading water in zero degree temperatures!
