I bought these boots for work - I'm in the construction and landscape industry, so I needed something extra-durable, and waterproof. These boots offered me both. I have worked in ALL conditions, including plowing snow and in swampy areas and they are the best boot I've bought so far. They are extremely comfortable. Finally, after 2-and-a-half years of constant abuse, they have started to lose the waterproof capabilities. Don't get me wrong - they have been cleaned and preserved every month since I bought them to keep them performing to my needs, but all good things come to an end. Overall, an excellent buy.

Needed to order a full size larger than I expected. I basically needed to do so to get the width I needed. I have a pair of Raichles that I bought in 1995. I still wear them. I liked them so well that I didn't have a problem buying another pair online.

This is probably the first boot that I did not get a rub or blister on my foot. The boot is stiff, but that is what I prefer and pretty light for a mountaineering boot.

Tromp aruond the mountains here, sun, snow, rain, mud, nothing stops these boots from taking me where i want to go. I've used these also for snowshoeing and they're great, especially in the deep stuff. Keep my feet warm, dry and toasty.

I have used these boots this fall in the Cascades in Washington. Probably 20 miles on three or four mountain hikes. They work quite well and are dry. This fall there has been a lot of running water on the trails and I have been dry and secure in the water and on snow.

I am a contractor that was looking for an all around boot. I never know when I leave in the morning what I might encounter during the day - snow, mud, sand, etc. This is an excellent quality boot that will meet my need for a boot I can rely on. I also use it for hunting, recently spending the day walking over varied terrain and through swampy ground. My feet did stay dry, however, my experience with any GoreTex product is that it always works when new, but not for very long. I will be putting some waterproofing on shortly. The boot is a little stiff, but any good hiking boot will be. The inside is not leather however, so hard-core backpackers may want to look elsewhere. All in all, a very nice boot for the cost.

I am an arborist and need a boot that would be durable enough to foot lock up rope and stand in tight branch crotches and not break down. These boot are not too heavy and don't feel like ski boots. After a solid month or two of climbing in them they are working out in every respect. I would recommend them to any of my peers.

I bought a full size larger than street shoes, and they fit great. I have low volume narrow feet. Also tried the Asolo FSN 95's (too wide, but comfortable), the Asolo Synchro's (great fit, a bit too wide), and the Vasque Alpine LT's (also wide, and construction seemed like a 2nd in quality). So far I've hiked a couple hours in pouring rain, and stood around in a muddy field at a concert, and they're watertight. They require some break-in for sure, but so far no blisters.

I got these for some upcoming fall hikes/scrambles/climbs, but I wore them this past weekend for a moderate 8 mile hike with modest elevation gain in about 75 degree weather. I thought they may be too warm, but I wanted to see how they performed and broke in. I was very surprised - incredibly comfortable from the start and I felt like I was sprinting up the mountain due to the stiff soles. This is my first pair of "mountaineering" boots and while they are stiff, I like that and feel it's great for rough terrain. I can't wait to use them under harsher conditions.
One recommendation - do not drive in them. Seems silly, but they were actually the most uncomfortable in the car. When I got on the trail it was like a whole new boot.
Highly recommended and you can't beat the price. I may buy another pair. THESE DO RUN SMALL. Order your size accordingly.
