I backpacked quite a bit in the past 2 years. Started in the US, did Yellow Stone, Yosimite.. continued to the Grand Canyon. been to 48 States. Backpacked through South Africa (Garden Route, Eastern Transval), Croatia, Peru (Machu Picho, Colca Canyon Wuywash), Bolivia, Slovenia, Argentina and Chile (tores Del Paine, Phuehue...). baisically i can say that i have backpacked for over 1000 miles by foot with a 30 pound backpack on my back. These boots have never disappointed me, i dont recall slipping or loosing balance with them. they have great traction and kept my foot warm even at extreme tempretures like -5 degrees (celcius). Today i use these boots for gardening... they remind me of the good old times:)

Good-looking boot, sturdy and well made. I am on my feet all day and prefer boots lighter and more comfortable than the work boots I have tried over the years--these fill the bill.

I'm glad that I bought these. so far... These seem to be great boots. I only hope that they last longer than the pair of Raichle mountaineering boots that I owned, who's foam cushioning on the sole disentigrated into powder after 4 years of very light use. These appear to be made out of a different composition though. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
