Raichle Mountain Crest Backpacking Boots (For Women)

As with other Raichle boots, the sizing is UK, but the French/43 is spot on US 10(men's).The toe box is slightly large width wise for a woman but perfect for a linear narrow/medium width male foot given time for the thick nubuck to stretch. The insole has a supplemental high density heel piece applied to the underside which quickly compresses. Just like many other Raichle reviews you will have to deal with stiff sole, stiff leather, and a longer break-in period, but for those of us who don't like fabric deterioration/delamination and soft gas injected soles that croak early, this looks like a long term keeper. Nikwax nubuck waterproofing does well on this leather and laid down a very uniform application.

I wish I could use these boots but they are so big and completely different from my other Raichle boots the same size, that I have to return them.
