I bought these late in the winter and only got to use them three time. But all three times I was very pleased with these snowshoes.
They did kick up snow on the back of my leg. This was no superise since I did read by one other preson that this would happen. So where some snow pants.
Great time .

i added "stops" or "buttons" on the ends of the straps because otherwise the straps slip out of the buckles. otherwise exellent. i worked in the woods for many years for the u.s. forest service. i used snowshoes in my work, and these would do well for that use. i now use the "shoes" recreationally. they work well as a compromise between hi-flotation and light maneuverability. i weigh 250#, so great soft-snow flotation is NOT practical. the claws give great grip on ice and steep snow.

A friend recommended Redfeather snowshoes to me. He told me that Sierra Trading Post was having a great sale on them. When I checked online and discovered not only a great price but that I received an additional 20% off for being a first time buyer I just had to order them.
I live in Southern Michigan and we've had lots of snow this winter. I enjoy rabbit hunting and the only way to get around is with snowshoes. I go off trail in dense cover and the compact design is great! Plus they never come loose!
I am 100% satisfied with my Redfeather Alpine snowshoes.

Bought these snowshoes for my husband and have only used them once so far but they worked great. They didn't throw up as much snow as the other brand we have. Good price.

STP had great deals on these snowshoes.Rating snow shoes for differant conditions with temperatures, humidity, altitude and a large host of other variables is a roll of the dice at best.Add to that various different human variables like height, weight, fitness level, expectations, experience and other things too numerous and varied to list.
The Inuit (Arctic Native People) have something like 75 words for snow that describe different types of snow that they encounter.
That being said,it's hard to figure out what conditions someone else will be using them under and the human variables.
I've had these 2 weeks and have used them 11 days.I'm retired and live in Upper Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula and we have 250 inches of snow so far this year[that's a normal year].I've used them on rolling and wooded terrain,on trails and off and my wife and I climbed Mt.Houghton last week. That was pure backwoods bushwacking with few trails and some steep-40 deg. sections.Snow conditions were powder that had a short thaw a week earlier so it had some crust.I found that the bindings held well and the crampons were great. The climb was about 850 feet vertical with a longer approach-total time 4 hrs. Yes they do kick up snow onto the backs of your legs, not much of a problem with gaiters or nylon hiking pants.
Buy them and try them on at home and get used to the bindings before you go outdoors and use good sense and you should enjoy them at STP good prices.

These are great. If in doubt go with the bigger size.(they are fairly narrow, & easy to get around in) Figure in your weight plus what you will be with gear on. (not what you hope to weigh after your diet.) I like to have more performance then I need then needing more when I'm at that point of need.Great value for the buck! I put on the music and go for it, a lot better than watching a TV at the health club pretending to be getting in shape, WAY better work out and getting out into nature is unreal. Oh Yea , after you set the front straps you just slip your foot in and ratchet the back up snug, Grab some poles (a great plus) and go have fun!!!

Really good for deep snow and sloping trails. The crampons really bite and you will not slide in them. You can back up easier than most Vee tails but because the tail follows your heel, they kick a lot of snow up your back.
Once you get used to the heel binding, they are much easier to get on & off (than most snowshoes).
They are really higher performance and on packed/gentle trails I find my Redfeather Sport Treks to be a better match but in the deep snow, these snowshoes with a waterproof shell over your pants would be tought combination to beat.
