Reviewed by Drew from Gander, NL on Tuesday, January 29, 2013no pivot bar, will not be efficient for climbing or descending hills, not for the adventourous, restricted for short strolls on groomed trails. Darn good thing I got it for such a good price, it certainly wasn't worth the suggested retail price of over $200.

I have heard the Red Feather snowshoes throw snow up your back, but think this is more a problem for racers. I am just looking to cover 1-2 miles in an hour or so, with packs. May have to learn a new stride since the footholds do not pivot and the snowshoes may "drag" more. The last pair of cheapo snow shoes I bought had brittle plastic bindings which broke the first time I used them. Ended up walking 2 miles in foot deep snow. Took 2 hours. These bindings have more of a "rubber" feel to them and I am pretty optimistic the plastic components will stand up to our below zero weather.
