Redfeather Hike Snowshoes - 22"

Outstanding performance at an exceptional value. Great for beginners. Bought these for my wife and she loved them for their maneuverability and great fit. They work great in deep powdery snow as well hard packed snow. Perfect for rolling terrain. Exceptional buy.

Living in Upstate NY, I look forward to weekend Snowshoeing. These snowshoes are great. Lots of fun.

They looked great when they arrived - nice lightweight snowshoes. However, when I used them several weeks later in the snow - just walking - they kicked up snow at the back of my legs. In a little while I was freezing from having the snow all over my legs and melting. This would be avoided if the snowshoes had active hinges so the backs don't kick the snow up. I am a petite woman, about 125 lbs. and would recommend looking at other snowshoes.

My only other snowshoes were hand-strung babiche Ojibways that belonged to my dad. They were built for a larger man, so to find shoes that work for me that don't force my feet so far apart is wonderful! These are light, quick on/off, sturdy and compact is a delight. The only drawback to them is that in mid-depth snow, and moving quickly, I COVERED my back half with kicked-up snow. Seems to be a feature of the live response hinge. Must wear nylon or wool to repel the flying snow. Haven't used them in deep snow yet, so can't comment on that.

I just returned from Colorado where I was snow shoeing with this pair of snow shoes. It worked out great, more comfortable than any one that I had rented in the past. A staff from the ski rental shop told me that he owned a pair of this brand and loved it.

It is a great snowshoe for the price. I immediately fell in love with it.

I had a pair of these for years, until we adopted an English Setter who ate them. These are a replacement. I loved hiking in these and so wanted another pair. I find the bindings a bit hard to adjust at times, but will see if the newer ones are any easier once the snow flies. I do a lot of tracking and these shoes held me in good stead for many a year. It will be good to be back on snowshoes again!
