My husband and I enjoyed breaking these in for the first time in the schoolyard behind our house. We live in upstate New York and have had plenty of snow this winter. I shared these with my neighbor (11 year old) and she enjoyed using them also. She had previously only traveled on pre-packed trails, and found it difficult to traipse through the soft snow.

We use these primarily while doing chores in the west-central mountains of Idaho where we live. They are just fine for our purpose.

So easy to use for a 1st time snowshoer. Don't have to sacrifice my excercise workout when it's snowy now. Great for cardio and very reasonably priced.

Nice snowshoe; seem rugged enough for many years of recreational use. crampons work great; even my daughter with mobility issues can walk well on these, and (most importantly) doesn't slip when going up or down icy slopes.

I'm new to Snow Shoeing and wanted an entry level set that was inexpensive. My first outing was on a friend's borrowed pair of unknown brand. I researched these on the web and learned one of the things to avoid is ones that kick snow up on your butt. Reviews on these were positive so I got them. Using them I find they're a reasonable set for the price. They do kick a little snow up but only on the backs of your calves and from what I understand all pairs do that. I didn't notice it with the pair I borrowed from my friend since I had gators on then. First time I wore these I forget them and my pants got wet below the knees. Next time I wore them I had the gators on and had no problems. So for these wearing gators is definitely recommended. With regard to weight support I recommend if you're in doubt go to the next size up. I got 25in for me & my wife since I was on the border of the weight range. They're fine for her but I would have been better off with 30in. I used these in mostly level terrain. Not sure how they would do in anything real steep though they do have nice claws on the underside so I expect you would get some grip. Overall I think they were a good entry level set for the price.

I didn't notice that oneclaw was bent until I started walking. I could feeli it, then saw it. Is this part of the close-out? Most people go for pretty colors, but I try for name integrity (Redfeather) and function. It's good to own a few different pairs for varying types of snow action, but I would be cautious on "close-outs".
