This is a Christmas present and, unless you're looking to make your own pair of traditional snowshoes, I wouldn't pick anything other than Redfeather. You cannot go wrong.

I used these the first week I purchased them on two outings at Mt. Rainier (one steep up and down, the other rolling hills) in deep snow with a good 8 inches of fresh powder and could not have been happier. They looked so small I wondered if they would keep me afloat, but they exceeded my expectations. Light, compact and stay put without adjustments. Highly recommend.

Only used these once and they were great. Nice and light and the bindings are comfortable on the boots. I've been renting Atlas and MSR snowshoes but like these the best. The womens specific style allows for a more natural feeling gait.

I hiked two miles - my first shoeshoe experience -on a rough forest trail with fallen trees. Fun and easy! Cross-country ski skills transfer over to snowshoeing. I weigh 140 pounds and these shoes (rated for up to 125 lbs) carried me beautifully on dense, icy snow and on steep inclines. I was thrilled with the secure traction they provided, both uphill and down. Their narrow width allowed me to walk easily with a strong stride. Hardly noticed I was wearing snowshoes!

This is my first pair of snowshoes. For me, they bridge the gap between walking in the woods in boots (light snow cover) and days when I cross country ski. One more reason to get my lazy bum off the couch and out of doors in the winter!

My friend got these for Christmas, and is enjoying them. Last weekend she raced in them and got a medal in the Wisconsin Badger State Games. She is a small woman, so they are appropriate for her size. Good for trails, with good crampons for icy conditions. Definitely for women up to 125 lbs., but no larger.
