i sent these back because i was punching thru firm breakable crust- i compared them to my wife's 25" snow snowshoes and the size of the platform was the same as these (30"). bindings worked well. the pink color that others complained of actually looked pretty cool to me- black frames and bindings made them 'manly' enough! they would work very well for someone who would usually use a 25" roundtail shoe, ie maybe up to 175# depending on snow conditions, yet might still sink in deep powder

Just received and I have not used them. They appear to be very well constructed. The bindings are functional out of the box. I'll have to see how durable the bindings are long term. For those that are bothered by colors, they are pink. Color shouldn't matter too muck once you are out on the trail.

We live in a very snowy place. Though we also have traditional wooden snowshoes that we prefer, these allow us to go uphill much better and get into the ice sections along Lake Superior. You must get past the pink color as the technical aspects of the shoes are very good.

  • Question “I know snoeshoes are usually sized by either height or weight of the person wearing them. Can you tell me who these 30" ones are good for? Do they have a weight limit or compatibility chart?”
Asked on 1/16/2013 12:00:00 AM by Catcon from Las Vegas, NV.
    • Answer The weight capacity for this snowshoe is 220 lb. All of our snowshoes should have the weight capacity in the overview or specs tabs. Here is a link to our snowshoe guide that has a chart. http://www.sierratradingpost.com/lp2/snowshoe-guide/

  • Question “Are these too long/wide for a 5'0" person with a 7.5 shoe size?”
Asked on 1/16/2013 12:00:00 AM by likes quality at bargain price from Unknown
    • Answer Snowshoe sizing is based on the wearer's weight. This snowshoe has a capacity of 220 lb. Since you are only 5' tall I suspect you weigh less than 200 lb. The 25" snowshoe has a weight capacity of 175 lb. For more about snowshoe sizing this is a link to our snowshoe buying guide. http://www.sierratradingpost.com/lp2/snowshoe-guide/

    • Answer The color is actually somewhere in the middle of red and pink. Some might find it a bit feminine. But the color doesn't offend my masculinity.
