Bindings need replacing. They do not stay tight, they slip around on the boot, and the shoe slides sideways from beneath the foot. I had to readjust the bindings three times walking less than a mile on flat ground.

Hike trails in Itasca State Park in No. MN - trails are rolling terrain and the cleats are great for going up and down hills. I used to use the old wooden kind; these are easier to walk in. The bindings are not as convenient to get into/out of as bindings on other brands I've seen (since I bought these). Snow kicks up and coats back of my legs but that could be a result of my novice technique. Great exercise!!! Overall, I'm happy with them.

My only negative comment about these snowshoes is in reference to the strapping. The straps have tendance to work loose while walking. There is no way to set the adjustments permanetely for a single user. These are still great shoes and I would abosolutely buy them again!

My wife used them on new snow over frozen snow. Worked great. They are so much better than our old wooden snowshoes. Have not tried them in deep snow since our current conditions are new snow over old frozen snow. We hiked back into a river bottom where there were wet areas where the snow had covered the ground before freezing. Our previous hike there without snowshoes saw us up to our knees in water when we hit a soft spot in the snow. No such problems with the new snowshoes. Easy on and off and walking with them was like wearing regular hiking boots. One of our best buys from Sierra Trading Post.
