Redfeather

I purchased this product to donate as a prize for a local Volunteer Fire Department event. I have the same pair that I purchased 2 years ago for myself, use almost daily in the winter, and LOVE! They are so durable and light. Highly recommend them.

This pair of Redfeathers is our fourth purchase from the same company. Quality shoes and work great in hilly terrain.

Did an 8km race in these and they worked great. Actual tag on snowshoes indicates NO upper weight restriction for use on firm trails. I weigh 190 lbs and they worked fine for running on firm trails. The heel plate is mounted a little far forward for my size 12 running shoe, but it was not noticeable. You might notice it only on the hardest packed trails. Straps held well at -15F. Somehow some fine snow got inside the tubing and melted out later on my entryway floor.

I haven't been able to use these yet, but I used the same brand/model last year about once a week. Used the free snowshoes at the ski area while my son was practiced with his ski team. Fell in love with the sport - great exercise and lower impact.

Not only are these snowshoes easy to put on, they do a great job of breaking a cross country ski trail. I bought these for my wife. Together we make a nice wide trail to ski in later.

Solid construction, reasonably light weight with a good amount of flotation. Crampons are fixed and do not pivot with foot, and along with lack of bite from the tubular frames,I would not want to be on a slope of more than 15 or 20 degrees with them. If you anticipate being in steep places, these are not what you want. Bindings intuitive and do the job.

We have snow for the first time since buying these snow shoes. After learning how to install my boots into the web connections ( It took about 3 tries ) I was off and walking. They were quite light and it was easy to maneuver in the fresh powder. It was my first time in this sport so I was happy with how things turned out. I had no trouble with " Pigeon toeing "

We just got snow but these look so much better than pair I returned (local). Bindings look like they'll work well and overall seem very sturdy. I think it's worth paying more for better quality- no comparison to the cheaper models.
