I use the Icebreaker Redram pants every single day in Houghton, MI in the upper peninsula. I am entirely comfortable wearing only these and my "Marker" snow pants in 3 degrees F and 30 degrees F while skiing, ice climbing, or standing around during Winter Carnival. They fit great under all types of clothing and they have taken over for my hot chili's which are too warm. I believe the wool does a better job than synthetics of regulating temperature no matter what the exterior temp is and it provides that same regulation regardless of perspiration. I would be sweating in lower quality long johns during class and ski patrol if it weren't for the redrams.

Warm and light weight. Appears they will hold up over time. Have been disappointed with flimsy wool base layers I have worn under ski pants in the past as they would rip just putting them on.

There are much higher quality wool leggings on the market for a touch more money. These already show signs of abnormal thinning and pilling after only a few athletic uses. If you will use occasionally, they will last. Not meant for daily or sports use, IMO.
