This jacket's made out of the super heavy duty, unwashed canvas material Carhartt is famous for. It starts of a bit stiff, but will take tons of abuse. Thorns won't phase it at all and it even holds its own against barbed wire (in my experience, only the sharpest and stiffest barbed wire has much chance of putting a rip in this jacket-and that just gives it a bit more character).

It's also the only (current) Carhartt jacket made from the heavy canvas that uses buttons rather than zippers. For most hard working (even abusive) conditions, that probably doesn't matter--but if you plan to get muddy (think: having a blast 4wheeling), then this jacket is the bomb. Zippers get clogged up with just a little mud--no matter how much mud you get on this jacket, you'll never have a problem getting it on and off. :-)

I bought for a second work coat but after wearing decided it was to nice for work! Nice fit and warm on chilly days! A little stiff but a few washes will take of that.
