I bought these for a 10 day hike through New Mexico. They regulated temperature well, even on hot 90+ days, and cool ~45 evenings in New Mexico. They also provided a nice amount of padding under foot. I normally wear a much thinner sock but with the number of days on the trail and pack weight due to group gear and food I wanted to have some extra cushion. I was able to wear them 2-3 days straight (airing out at night) before washing/changing. They didn't start to smell like synthetics tend to after multiple wears and recovered well when washed (both with and without a full camp soap). Other members of the group destroyed socks and couldn't believe I rotated between only 2 pair of socks for the whole trip.

These will probably make their way into my day to day wardrobe. Another success from SmartWool.

Bought these for an upcoming hike. Purchased one pair to try. Loved them. Bought 2 more pair. Good temperature range and motion comfort.

these fit well, and hopefully will hold up better than some earlier SmartWool socks I had that wore out pretty quickly in the heels.

I will not wear any other socks other than smartwool PhD socks. They are amazing. extremely comfortable in both hot and cold weather, and the arch support helps my high arches.
