Verified Buyer Reviewed by The Sojourner from California on Saturday, July 16, 2016I loved how the Dakine Gemini looked and the size was just right; if I judged the backpack on looks and functionality I would give it a 5. But I think quality is the most important aspect in a backpack. This is is where I docked points. 1. The back of the backpack looked like it was lined with styrofoam. 2. When you open up the backpack, the material inside felt thin and cheap. I would have kept it still, but 3. the zippers did not close smoothly and it felt like it could easily break. I really tried to convince myself to keep, but sadly I had to return it.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by karis0166 from Portland OR on Wednesday, March 23, 2016Wanted a pack that was good for work, both in terms of looks and its function/design. Wanted it to look more professional, as this does, not be like the one(s) I use on the trails. This has a lot of thoughtful compartments. I am impressed that I can put 3 computers in it at once (my 15" MBP, my MacBook Air and my Dell Latitude laptop), with room left for computer accessories (mouse, charger), lunch, jacket, other incidentals (pens, badges, toothbrush, chapstick, glasses case, wallet), plus my 1-liter thermos (the diameter fits just right, but if it were any wider it wouldn't have fit). All comfortably fits, thanks to the design and many compartments, without it looking bulky at all. The only issue? I have a very short torso (14") so it's a little long on me, but considering all that it accommodates, and that its purpose is to carry things to the office, I think it's probably as good as it could get. Oh, one miss: the sunglass pocket lacks the promised fleece lining, but this is not a big deal to me. I figure this is why it's a second, even though it's listed as a Closeout rather than a Second officially.
