    Have not tested long-term.
However, my fiance' is very happy with these pants. You can tell they are well-made and are a high quality pant. He is usually about a 36" waist and 30" inseam and the Large (waist 34-36) just fit. Not quite enough space for a heavy layer underneath but the length is good and overall they fit comfortably.

This is a great deal especially when I have gone to some...Really Expensive Item stores and seen Arc'teryx rain pants (also Gore-Tex) for nearly 4 times the price and not noticeably better quality.

We will see if they stand up to the test of time (or a trip to Southeast Alaska...) but have always had good experience with Gore-Tex and these definitely seem well done.

Should have listened to the other reviews, but thought they might just be folks that wanted to believe they were still a size medium. Marmot is typically sized for the fit and agile consumer. However, rain pants are normally designed, sized and sold to fit over layers (jeans)! No, not these... I'd be lucky to fit these over my underwear or bike shorts. I'm sure the material is wonderful, but the cut and size border on ridiculous! Good luck!

Very good quality pants for price. Sizes are exact, so if you wish to wear anything underneath, even shorts, get one size larger. I am 6 foot 165 and a large works perfectly. Excellent value and performance so far.

Ordered these pants for my two sons for a trip to Alaska. They are both tall and slim (6'1", 145lbs). The Medium fit them both perfectly. There was not much length to spare, however. So, if you want to wear something under these, then order the next size up. They are very well-made, look great and are certainly waterproof. No complaints and the price is right!

I bought these for summer camping in Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire, as well as an upcoming trip to Nepal. I am 5' 11", 185 lbs, and they fit me just fine. They are a bit long at the ankle, but that is fine when I have my hiking boots on. They are a little "noisy" when walking (sort of like snow pants), though the alternative (getting soaked) is worth the racket. Although I've yet to test these, I have one knock, and that is the absence of belt loops. They are snug enough on me, but I would still like the option to keep them in place with a belt. But hey, they're Gore-Tex and the price was right, so as long as they keep the water out I'm happy.

XL is a 38. It's nice to know Marmot is small in mens and womens equally.

They are very comfortable and work as advertised (did not get wet on two extended dog walks in the rain). They roll up small for packing (fishing trip) and fit comfortably over shorts and jeans (have walked in both).
