Redington Sonic-Pro Ultra Packable Waders - Stockingfoot (For Men)

Closeouts. A great choice for destination anglers, Redington's Sonic-Pro Ultra Packable waders put a premium on lightweight performance. Four-layer waterproof breathable fabric and minimized, sonic-welded seams mean less bulk without sacrificing performance.

When I received these waders, I tried them on and wasn't convinced the booties fit well. I ordered a MS, which for me at 5'9" and 165 lbs, fit well. I ended up exchanging them for the Redington Sonic Pro waders in the same size and am more satisfied with the overall build quality of these.

I haven't used yet, relying on on other reviews for durability. They are very light weight - fishing in Michigan in October and hoping thinness isn't a problem in the cold water. Sizing - being short and stocky its been hard to find a decent fitting pair of waders - at 5'8" and 220 and size 8 shoes. These fit pretty well. Feet are in the 9 - 10 range but not too bad, as I expect to need extra heavy socks. Chest and hips allow some room for under layers but not too baggy and crotch fits pretty well - doesn't drop to down around my knees!

I'm 6'3 215 size 12 shoes. I ordered XXL and they are tall enough if the shoulder straps are at the longest possible but barely tall enough. The shoulder straps are lacking but they do the trick. They are lightweight and good for packing or everyday use. I fished the Kenai 3 days last week and no leaks. The boot portion were large even for me and the neoprene is thinner than your average. Buy some water socks if your not a size 14 shoe with the xxl.

I've had a pair of these for a year now. I have abused the living you know what out of them. I've probably used them over 100 times. I have walked on gravel with the booties, on concrete, on dirt and sticks while putting my boots on or walking around the truck. I have tromped through the woods with them.

ve packed them up several times. I've literally trashed these things. Guess what? They still dont leak! ! Oh and I got ones that are too large...and they still havnt torn holes in them.

I am seriously impressed with these for the price. I backpack with them, use them in rivers and on lakes. Great waders

Needed a lightweight pair of waders for a back country trip. Tried them out the other day fishing that included a 1+ mile hike to the river and had no problem with their performance. As noted in other reviews, the boot foot is only 2mm, not the standard 5mm. The shoulder straps and belt are nothing fancy but adequate. They do however run small through the chest compared to most waders. I'm 5' 11", 155 lbs, wear a size large shirt and these waders in large could only accommodate a light vest underneath so take that into consideration when ordering.

They are very light and packable, its not readily apparent how they stuff into their own pocket though, and they come with no instructions. The pocket does however have a removable gear storage area that's really cool. They are comfortable however the straps are very short and not really adjustable at all, and at least for me they pull up a little too high into the crotch. Ill probably change the straps out. They seem durable enough but I haven't put em through the ringer yet. Honestly I'd be hesitant to because they are very thin and light, which is what they're supposed to be, but I'm not sure how much bushwhacking they can take.

I'm a bit tall that I will have to adjust the suspenders to add length to the straps. Other then that I have no issues.

In 45 years of fly fishing, I have owned lots of waders. I currently have multiple pairs of Simms and Patagonia in my closet, and while I love my G3's, they are too heavy and bulky if I have to pack them. These waders are perfect for what they are designed for: Travel and Backpacking These are not meant to be burly, 5 layer, brush-bashing waders. People should really pay attention to the name and description of these waders before giving them a bad review. These waders are super lightweight as they are designed for travel and backpacking, hence the "Ultra Packable" for"Destination anglers" part of the name. Consequently, everything is lighter and thinner than you'd find in everyday waders: the fabric, the use of the latest high-tech bomber welded seams (vs sewn), the shoulder straps, the belt, the booties - and this makes them awesome - for Travel and Backpacking. I was looking for a pair of super lightweight waders that packed down as small as possible and these fit the bill nicely.

If you are looking for a very well-made pair of lightweight, easy to compress waders for travel or backpacking you'll love them. They are so light and comfortable, you'll almost forget you have them on. If you are buying your one and only pair of waders and you will expose them to heavy and/or hard use, do not buy these as they are not meant to be used that way.
