I only have one criticism of this shell jacket: it is not really waterproof. It is certainly water RESISTANT, and is fine in snow, light rain, or generally damp conditions. But in steady or heavy rain, the material holds water, and gets a bit wet inside. Of course that's the usual tradeoff with "breathable" waterproof fabrics, but I've had better results with Goretex and a few other materials.

In all other regards, it's a fine shell. Enough length to keep your tush warm and dry; cleverly-placed and well-designed pockets; good fit all around (including the hood); good looking; and solid construction. I expect the jacket will last a long time.

Great jacket but being a shell, does require some extra layers to keep warm.
