“I am a 220 pounder. My preferred shoes are made by Ecco, Mephisto, Birkenstocks. I have orthopedic issues and sometimes use rigid arch supports. I use the shoes as casual city walking wear.
They are stylish but have a nice toe box, unlike Mephs and Eccos. Comfortable as any shoe I've worn, straight out of the box. The negative heel, this my first exposure, is natural and comfortable with a few days wear. The arch support is above standard. Plantar support is above standard. At first, lateral stability seemed lacking in the uppers, but as I began to use the sole of the shoe, I found plenty. They wear very much like Birkenstocks, with more cushion, same toebox, less durable.
The shoe sole wears quick. The soft uppers are seem plenty durable. I'm pretty certain these are 3 month shoes for me, i.e. 500-600 miles, like commercial gym or basketball shoes. The sole makes taps impracticable. 3 days of wear, about 10-13 miles of cement city walking, show appreciable(1/8-1/4" depth) wear at both toe and heel. I get 2 years on an Ecco sole and about 8 months on Meph walking rubber. The uppers will outlive the lowers and the shoe looks a good candidate for resoling. However, the molded sole is much of the support and stability.”
