    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I normally wear a 7W and my foot is somewhat thick as well but took a chance and ordered these since some previous reviewer said they were really comfortable. Unfortunately, these sandals don't have enough room for my foot in terms of either height or width (length was fine). Also, the center of the footbed is raised a bit and this creates a ridge about 3/4" from the edge of the sole which I thought was prettry uncomfortable as well.

    These are very nice sandals at a great price, but the pair I received were so small that I could barely get my narrow foot in them. When I measured them against several other sandals of the same size, they were a full size smaller, maybe more. I returned them and didn't bother with an exchange them because I had no clue how to guess the correct size I'd need.

    I have a high instep and have trouble with shoes that have a strong, stitched band across the instep such as this sandal. They're very cute, very well constructed and I know would be comfortable for others, but unfortunately they became painful for me after I walked in them for awhile. I would recommend them highly to a friend who doesn't have that problem.

    These sandals are classy looking, casual sandals of quality construction and materials. They are a bit on the heavier side, but they won't wear out like a $10 pair of flip-flops, either. I have worn them several times and they are still not quite comfortable, but they're getting there. These should last several seasons.
