I am impressed that this (12 weight) rod's action is faster than I was expecting. More of a fast to moderate-fast blank with very little flex in bottom two rod sections. Middle of rod loads well and tip is fast and responsive. Throws an 11 weight tarpon line a mile. Probably a true 12 weight as tarpon lines are usually uplined one weight. Cork is decent. Minor finishing blems on blank do not matter to me as this is a backup rod.
Best Uses: Blue water backup rod, Chinook in AK
Cons: Minor blemishes on blank
Pros: Fast action blank, Nicely finished, Strong walled
