Used a 10WT for salmon fishing in AK this year & absolutely loved it! My wife tried it and didn't want to give it back. I just ordered her a 9WT.
This rod received an award in an Ak Fishing magazine.

There are better rods out there, but for the money, this is a fantastic rod. Good components, nice cork, good looking finish. Also, I love the burly rod tube! I bought this in a 7wt and a 9wt for salt and heavy freshwater. It casts well in light to moderate wind. Not as stiff as what most people expect of saltwater rods these days, but it still has enough backbone. I only have one gripe, and that gripe is the guides on the 7wt are smaller than what they should be. Although a 7wt rod is the lighter end of the "heavy" rod spectrum, it should still have large snake and stripping guides since bigger flies and bigger casts are the intended use. I bought this 7wt for bass, high water trout streamer stripping, beach snook, and reds and specks in the marsh.

Don't let the guides discourage you though, if you want to fish for schoolie stripers, snook, reds, bass, steelhead, giant trout and don't have $500+ to spend, this is the rod for you!

Today I took my new 7wt Christmas present out for a run in the Pacific Ocean surf. The winds were light most of the time, and the the surf was a bit confused due to some recent storms. This rod was excellent. Even when the wind picked up, the rod was up to the task.

Using an 8wt Airflo 40+ 7IPS sink line this rod loaded and shot the line very nicely. Very low effort for 65-75' casts. Exactly what I was looking for!

At this price, you should buy two!

I use this rod in an 8wt and 9wt. Its a lovely casting rod that loads well and delivers accurate casts in typically higher wind saltwater settings. Finish on the rod is excellent, with quality guides and perfect wrapping.

I just had to report back after having opportunities to cast the 8wt.. This rod is very usable over all distances, with good loading for short casts and the backbone for shooting 80ft. with ease. It does have a heavy tip, but this is irrelevant when balanced with a loaded reel and does give us a powerful tip section. I am pleased to no end!
