Ross Reels

I bought 2 of these; one in 4wt and one in 6wt. They are nice rods..Well finished and quality cork/reel seat(single locking only). The action is more of a medium not Medium/fast but still nice. I have lawn casted both of these rods with the stated line weight..not overlined. These rods will put the line out to 50ft without a problem. Most casting problems are the result of technique and usually Not the Rod itself. Also make sure the ferrule joints are snug not loose or you will have much trouble casting! Overall a Nice rod for the money in my opinion.

this reel works well for the price. i paired it with a redington 3 weight rod and it works perfect. I fish a mid size stream and have no problem landing 14-17 inch trout,

After hearing about the quality of the Ross Essence Series rods at a bargain price, I decided to pick up a 7'6" 4-weight FW. It's a nice, crisp rod that casts well. The rod's small-diameter, single stripping guide and unusual reel seat work fine. The rod is well constructed and has decent components, especially at this price. For an occasional user, a back-up rod, or somebody on a budget, it would be hard to do better for the money.

I use this rod in an 8wt and 9wt. Its a lovely casting rod that loads well and delivers accurate casts in typically higher wind saltwater settings. Finish on the rod is excellent, with quality guides and perfect wrapping.

Great for the price. Using it with Redington 6wf on my 5wt balances nice.

I just had to report back after having opportunities to cast the 8wt.. This rod is very usable over all distances, with good loading for short casts and the backbone for shooting 80ft. with ease. It does have a heavy tip, but this is irrelevant when balanced with a loaded reel and does give us a powerful tip section. I am pleased to no end!

Just add flies and you're ready to go.

Great product for the money.

Lawn cast product only, but was not impressed with casting. I have a $20 dollar 5 wt graphite big box - decent casting up close, and a $600+ Streamdance GLX 5 wt - great casting pretty much everywhere. On a value/$ basis would not trade either for the FW - so I returned it.
