I bought these to replace my Salomon Performa 7.0 boots. These look great, but are very tough to put on as the tongue is very stiff where it turns down into the front of the boot. I also would have expected more comfort and adjustability with these boots, given the price. My Salomon's, at half the price, are much more comfortable and can be adjusted in many ways. Maybe that is because these are freeride boots and are built more solid? Or maybe they require some time to break-in. They do seem to be built well and I like the touch of leather on part of the liner. Only time will tell as I am keeping them and putting them to use very soon.

These boots are very difficult and painful to put on and take off. The tongue is very stiff and pushes very hard on top of the foot right right below the joint with leg. The feel fine once they are on. The only other problem is that they definitely feel at least a half size too small. I am consistently a size 11 US and have easily purchased 40 to 50 pair of footwear from STP at this size with very good fit. As another reviewer has indicated this sizing issue, it seems that STP should have investigated this a bit and stated that people should choose next half-size up. I will return these boots for this reason because one does not want to have their toes (primarily the big one on both feet) right at the front with only 2 to 3 mm of play, especially with a ski boot. Otherwise the boot looks like it would be good, but the stiffness of tongue and inability to move the tongue any further forward while putting on and taking off is also a deal breaker. Tecnicas go on and off like a slipper, and fit like a glove.

Ignore the two reviews above. I have an older version of this boot. It is narrow and relatively stiff. Its made for expert skiers. If you're an intermediate and want something wide and comfy and squishy, don't buy this boot. You wont like it, but if you demand a boot that will do what you ask it to do, then get something like this.

I literally injured my foot trying to get them on. I suppose its possible to put them on without injury, but it would be difficult to say the least. I prefer to be able to don my boots with out assistance, I mean its not like these are race boots. Once I got them on my toe touched the end of the liner. They list these as size 27.5 or us 10. A Mondo 27.5 is actually closer to 9.5 US. But these are small even for a 9.5. Needless to say I returned them. I don't like giving a rating this low without trying them on the snow, but the difficulty was so great I had no choice.

Today's skis need a little softer flexing boot. More comfort for pounding lines in the back country without compromising the feel of the ski and the ability to turn on a dime through the trees. Great inbounds, too! New liner a little larger than past designs. Had to send back for 1/2 size smaller. My mistake though!
