Rossignol BC 3 Nordic Backcountry Ski Boots - BC NNN (For Women)

Ankles are way too tight & uncomfortable. Really hard to zip up.

Bought these for my 8 yr old son who wears a boys 4/Women's 5 to start backcountry skiing & tele turns. They fit fine except for the zipper around the ankle is way too narrow & does not close. Definitely a defect in design but like another review said, the zipper does not have to close in order to use the boot-it's just a gaiter, the ankle strap closes fine so for the close out price especially for a child who will wear them 2 seasons at best you can't beat it! I would NOT pay full price however. We haven't actually skied w/them yet but he says they are comfortable on.

These boots were a great buy, I read the other reviews and gave them a try anyway. I ordered my usual size and one size larger, neither of them fit. The actual foot bed was fine but I couldn't zip up the outer layer of the boot. I am probably on the smaller size of an average ankle and they still didn't work for me. Too bad, must have been a messed up design for that year.

These boots fit my foot perfectly but when I went to zip them up they wouldn't fit. I measured the ankle and the only way these would fit is if I had a 7 inch ankle. Seriously?? That is smaller then my wrist. I was very disappointed and sent them back.

I bought these boots for my girlfriend. The foot size was correct, but she couldn't zip them up....the ankle size was too narrow.(No, she doesn't have "cankles"... I couldn't zip them up putting my wrist in them! We returned them, hopefully we can find another pair that will fit.

I agree with other reviewers that the zippered outer gaiter on this boot was designed badly. I can't imagine anyone with a narrow enough ankle to be able to zip it up while the boot is actually on! The good news, however, is that the outer gaiter isn't crucial, especially if you plan to wear separate gaiters. I have a very narrow heel, and hoped this boot would fit tightly enough so my heel didn't slip. Unfortunately, it only held perfectly in place if I tightened the boot so much that my feet ached. Women with more average heel widths probably won't have any problems. I liked the lacing system a lot, and this boot provided a lot of ankle support and was quite warm. It just didn't work well for ME. I tried on a newer model -- the BC 5 -- and the narrow gaiter ankle issue seems to have been fixed.

I sent them back. They seemed like excellent boots, though I am unsure if I would like how stiff it felt with the ankle strap. They were too small and didn't have another size so I got some different ones.

These boots were very tight on me in the ankles. They fit fine in the length and width. I'm not a thin, skinny person. I have a bulky, muscular body. I normally wear a size 12 in womens. I tried the mens BC X3 and that did the trick. Just a little more room in the ankles. I wear a 40 in my climbing shoes and I went with a 42 for these boots because they do run small besides the ankles.

I wear a size 9 (40) which is the size I ordered- couldn't even get my foot in! A great deal, but consider ordering a bigger size :)
