5.0 out of 5 stars. the'heater'Verified Buyer Reviewed by Gravel girl. from wisconsin on Monday, February 9, 2015I call this vest 'the heater' because it gives just the right amount of warmth. I can wear just this and a technical shirt when I xc ski on mid 20F sunny days and it's plenty warm. I usually wear a small, but with thicker layers on coder days I found it was tight in the chest (35/36). So I also bought another in medium. It has proven to be durable and reliable. With sierra's great pricing I am skiing in style! Great find.

4.0 out of 5 stars. made for active sportsReviewed by Anonymous from Virginia on Wednesday, February 12, 2014I am usually a size small and purchased a small. If I was just wearing a thin t-shirt and sports bra (which squishes my top anyway) then I could zip up and feel comfortable running in this vest. It blocks wind very well and is warm, achieving its warmth by being tight over insulating layers underneath. So expect it to be tight. If you need more warmth than a t-shirt, then size up. My 23 y o daughter is normally an extra small, and the small still squished her top if she was not wearing a sports bra. So I think the designers assumed you'd be wearing a sports bra. If you want a vest that shows your curves on top, this is not for you. The small fit fine on her over a wool baselayer. Very well made and actually I am very pleased with the purchase. The pockets are all in the right places and very useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Everything I would expect from Rossignol.Reviewed by louie from st louis from Frisco on Wednesday, July 10, 2013Excellent style, material, workmanship. 5 stars!!! However, it does run very small. I bought this for my wife who weighs 103 pounds and normally wears a size small. I bought her a large and it fits perfectly.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Wonderfully warm in subzero conditionsVerified Buyer Reviewed by wildknits from Duluth, MN on Monday, February 4, 2013The fit is snug (I am 5'1.5"; 120-125 lbs) but not overly tight. Still fits over base layers easily. Amazingly warm (and I am a notoriously cold intolerant person). First wore it running on a 7 F day with windchill below zero, combined with base layers and a windbreaker, I was needing to unzip midway through the run. Have worn it on a few -10 F runs with the addition of another layer or two and been very impressed with it's ability to keep my core warm.
There is a large pocket area on the back that is divided down the middle. The zipper runs the full length, from right to left. For the cost, adding a second zipper so you could open just one half at a time would have been a nice extra touch. Haven't used the pocket yet while running, but the zipper seems easy to open and the divider seems quite functional.
Love having all of the pockets (hand warmer, chest and back), very versatile.
The bottom of the vest, inside, has a material that helps hold the edge in place - a bonus when being active in a cold environment. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Size runs smallVerified Buyer Reviewed by Fran from Dallas, TX on Monday, December 31, 2012I bought this for my daughter in law who usually wears a medium. Since when is an extra large size 10-12? I would have gotten it a little bigger to make it roomier but this was it.
