    This is a very nice jacket, but it's not a soft shell. It's a polyester insulated jacket, and rather lightweight. For sizing, refer to STP guidlines, don't just get a small because you always wear small; the size number range STP provides is much more accurate. I've worn this jacket lift-serve skiing, and it worked very well. It's warm, and I received a number of compliments on the style. However, it definitely isn't windproof; I was feeling drafts on the lift.

    This coat is very cute! The rooster decal and pattern throughout make it very unique and something most people don't see often. It is not a heavy coat. I don't intend to use it for skiing, but you could with layers.
