This is a heavier ski than I was expecting probably due to its width. It is true to the dimensions specified. It has the boot center marked for mounting conventional bindings but not the chord center for mounting telemark bindings. I would use it for resort telemarking but it is too heavy for backcountry in this country (Australia). I can't comment yet on the turning, stiffness or balance. Price is great for a light person to try a telemark ski. Colors are red yellow and white scintered base and also grey on part of the tops - lairy color schemes are a matter of personal preference.

This ski has nice dimensions for kids. Wide at the top, narrower under foot, making it easy to execute turns while still able to cut through crud and deep snow.

Bought these for my 8yr old son to learn backcountry telemark turns. The skis have very little camber so would not be the best choice for long distance kick & glide ventures but for the price they make an excellent WAXABLE fat backcountry metal edge ski for a child just learning how to make telemark turns in ungroomed territory. The wide ski & metal edges make it much easier to navigate in deep ungroomed terrain compared to a skinny cross country ski.At 8 my son would much prefer less distance & more hills to turn on so I think they'll make an excellent first metal edge ski. We'll eventually hit the slopes w/them since they are designed more as a groomer tele ski but can certainly be adapted to work for the backcountry. You can't beat the price for such a fat ski!!!

    Cons:
    Paid too much for blems
    Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
As a buyer, I was not told these skis were blems. The skis did not have matching serial numbers and the # on one was overstamped. Upon binding install, the center marker on one ski was not on center! The top sheet was not applied properly at the factory and thus, the reason for the overstamped serial number. The price is too high for blem junior skis of this age.
