Closeouts. The Rossignol Powder Bird telemark ski flies down backcountry bowls and thrives on fresh snow. A medium-wide waist offers excellent flotation with enough sidecut to carve some stellar turns in the resort.

I bought these skis to mount for telemark....saw the price and had 20% discount on top with a coupon...thought I had myself a great deal! Received the skis and mounted and skied them twice. Skis are dull in turns...too soft. But the worst thing, is the terrible construction. Tips already starting to delaminate...in process of returning skis to Sierratradingpost.com. I have been skiing for over 36 years and I have come to recognize the best manufacturers of skis out there....these Rossignols are lame.

I agree with the two other reviews. I ordered these after receiving an additional coupon. I noticed the de-lamination problem after I mounted these with my 02's. The name should be a dead give-away at what these skis excel at. I've skied them in 12-18" in Utah and some tight and deep trees in VT, and think they handle this type of snow well. They are not the quickest skis, and don't snap out of turns like stiffer skis do, but they are not designed to. I am interested to see how well they handle spring corn. Overall I like the ski, but would not buy them if I was to own only one pair of telemark skis. We'll see how well they hold up. Fortunately, Sierra Trading Post respects their customers and stands by the products they sell.

A great ski for all mountain use.
Floats nicely in powder.
Holds a good edge at high speeds.
Parallel turns are fun on these skis.
I highly reccomend them.

Purchased a pair of (168) '07/'08s from Sierra Trading Post at significant discount and had a pair of 22Ds Axls mounted on them. For a lighter skier(140#s) these appear to have preserved longitudinal flex in the tips and tails with reduced torsional flex providing edging and quick turns on steep, firmer snow and moguls.
I have skied alpine for 40 years and began teleing two years ago. Now, I tele 40-45% of the time on the mtn and these with more side cut and narrower dimension under foot (than my BDs with Hammerheads) with the Axl set up is awfully sweet. On a big powder day at Steamboat, it will be more difficult to decide alpine vs. tele equipment now. Haven't obtained skins for these but looking forward to more out of resort activity with the improved technical ability on these boards next season.
Keepin' my fingers crossed over the few delamination report issues...
