I've purchased other Rowallan products, and their construction and design standards are impeccable! This trunk has storage for everything that glitters: gold or not. Especially nice is the detachable travel compartment. Well worth the price!

Store jewelry but I want to have it accessible too.

I will be using this jewelry box to store my nicer jewelry. It is well made, and reminds me of the old steamer trunks people used during the early 1900s. The removable travel box would be great for storing items in a safety deposit box (one can always dream!!) This brings me to my only complaint about this item; I need more jewelry to fill it!

At last, I have found a practical and beautiful solution for storing my jewelry! Most handcrafted jewelry boxes do not fit everything, and I do not have a collection of jewelry so extensive to need any jewelry storage piece of furniture. The actual storage drawers and nooks are a good size both for loose pieces of jewelry and for precious items that one might want to keep stored in their original boxes -- small jewelry store boxes and necklace pouch boxes do fit in this case. With the handle, one easily can move all one's jewelry in one fell swoop in case one needs to place it under lock and key (or just hide it away when guests visit). Its construction and appearance are gorgeous to boot! The only cons: I am leery of the hinges, which seem not sturdy enough. When using this case, one usually winds up laying it on its back on a flat surface, instead of having it stand upright when one opens it (as, I think, it was designed to be used). In this position, e.g., fully open and on its back on a bed or a table top, one wants both sides of the case to lay flush with each other (as does a suitcase), but the hinges do not open up the sides of the case a full 180 degrees. The case's left side is left elevated a bit, which seems to place undue pressure on the hinges. I am hoping that these hinges will hold up. I love this trunk so much, though, that should its hinges fail, I probably will go to either a hardware store or woodworker's craftsman shop myself and buy replacement hinges for it! What I love the most is how this trunk allows me to keep all my jewelry neatly and appropriately stored in one beautiful item which easily can be moved if need be. The trunk contains a small multi-purpose jewelry case, which is perfect for one's jewelry when traveling. For all this convenience and beauty, the price was unbelievable -- thanks STP!
