Although the length is a bit shorter than I normally wear in either a skirt or a skort (46 yrs old), it was so comfortable and the shape so flattering that I felt completely at ease. The fabric is suitable to dress up a little with a sweet cotton tank or to wear with a tee.

The length would work for casual and also work. There are some extra seams that help the fit look a little tailored and the color was as shown. Fit is true to size. I like this brand for me as I am a little older with a athletic build, and it always seems to fit me better than some other brands.

Royal Robbins clothes are flattering and great for active pursuits but workmanship and zippers are not up to other sportsware lines standards, such as Columbia or Patagonia . When I look at countries of origin, I'm hoping RR checks factory conditions and maintains quality a little better. I'd pay more for more consistent workmanship because I like the line's style a lot.. The fit of this piece is a little low on the waist but works great on my not so perfect figure - I don't have much of a waist. Fit true to size for me. It's a little longer in length than most skorts and travels well, plus it dries quickly. I took one of mine to a tailor to get the zipper replaced, which will probably cost more than the skort cost new.
